Department of English

Introduction


The Department of English started in 1961 with the inception of the college. Since then, the department has been offering six units Special English Course with the following objectives 1) To create the interest of English literature among the students. 2) To enable the students to use English as a powerful means of communication. 3) To inculcate the research culture among the students in the field of English language and literatures in English. 4) To instill self-confidence among the rural students to face the challenges of globalized scenario.

1)    Contribution to the National development through inculcating the interest of English Language   among the students which enable them to achieve global opportunities.

2)    Inculcate Value system among the students through English Literature by studying the cultures of `various Countries and communities.

3)    Introducing Technology for the study of English Language and Literature by using Power Point Presentation and Language Lab activities.

4)    Foster Global Competency among the students by the study of English Language and Literature and enable them to face the Global Challenges.

5)    Organization of Seminars, Workshops, Group Discussion and Essay, Quiz, Elocution Competition for the Excellency of students.
